Gotta be bolder

Quick update today!

Recently, I have an assignment which is to draw a character in a chosen pose, in a chosen art style. It was challenging but a fun learning experience as we had to make the colouring and rendering as close to the artist's style as possible.

I don't usually use a very contrasty colour palette, so I challenged myself to keep using more extreme colours to emphasize on the lighting and shadows.

My habit was that no matter how dark the colour was, I keep blending it with the lighter colours as I find it quite dark and the contrast was really obvious. I guess I should prevent from limiting the colours to a "safe zone". I shall practise even more digital.

Thanks for dropping by!
