Don't be misled by the title, nope I didn't booth (I did last year, but that's another story).
This year, I decided to have a solo trip to Doujima. At first, I wanted to go with my friends but they were not available, yet I really wanted to visit the booths, so I planned to go by myself. I can take as long as I want, leave whenever i want; there's a sort of freedom and I didn't have to wait for anyone or vice versa.
Things spiced up a little during my solo trip. I took a while to find the location but in the end I had to ask around for directions. I happened to see a lady asking for directions to Doujima, so I tagged along after a security guard explained it to her. (She didn't mind) After joining a stranger, I didn't feel so lost anymore, since there's someone in the same boat.
Finally, we found the venue but there was a long queue for bag check. We chatted a bit and she introduced herself as "Tiny Toon" which is her nickname. In front of us, there was another lady and a girl (they looked like mother and child to me). They were joking around with the girl's scarf, twirling about with it and laughing, sometimes accidentally hitting other people. I thought: this is a slightly public disturbance but it seemed okay for now.
As we reached the top floor, there was still a long queue ahead. This time, they started playing Scissors, Paper, Stone with a forfeit of handing over shoes and socks to the other. Tiny Toon and I watched the game unfold, it was quite weird but amusing.

She said that it was "unusual, but the positive kind".
Soon, we were reaching the bag check area where there was guard to keep the queue from obstructing others. I saw her glancing at the lady and girl as if she was speechless from the fact that they were not wearing shoes and socks. I smiled to myself. Not long after, I was finally in the exhibition halls.
Basically, sometimes going on a trip alone is not really a bad thing. You can get a fun experience and even make acquaintance with a stranger.
Thank you for reading!
